Cleverly fashioned from an antique sterling silver watch fob, this glamorous Antique 1904 Sterling Watch Fob necklace captures the sweet romance and effervescence of a time gone by. Presented to celebrate the achievement of a local contest, no expense was spared in consigning this stunning medallion fob from the prestigious W. H. Haseler & Co of Birmingham, England.

Founded in 1870, specializing in gold and silver work, and jewelry, W. H. Haseler & Co is best known for its partnership with the prestigious firm of Liberty & Co. where Haseler himself played an influential, behind-the-scenes role within the celebrated Arts and Crafts movement. Founded just five years after Haseler's firm, Arthur Lasenby Liberty's small shop on the corner of Regent Street in London specialized in exotic goods from Japan and the Far East. As history now tells, Liberty was much touted as merchant and tastemaker for the upper classes, including leading members of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. 

After early co-productions, Liberty and Haseler created a formal partnership in 1898 which allowed Haseler's own firm an inside track in the production of silverware, jewelry, and other decorative items that embodied the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement. In addition, Haseler was instrumental in overseeing Liberty design collaborations with prominent Arts and Crafts designers, ensuring that they met the high aesthetic philosophy of Liberty. 

Dating to 1904, this exquisite commemoration fob features the fine silverwork for which W.H. Haseler Co pieces are prized. With regal lions atop a medallion shield design on each side, the fob is further enhanced by stylish fleur de lis and scrolling flourishes framed by leaves. Inscriptions read:
